Plex Is Launching a New Service Called “Plex News”

Plex has slowly been expanding its software from just a media server to a powerful tool for cord cutters. Recently it added its DVR feature for your antenna and now it has a new stream service called Plex News.

Plex News will bring Plex users personalized news from a wide range of topics and media outlets. This includes local and world news. There are about 190 news providers from CNN to Cheddar as well as IGN, Mic, Euronews, Financial Times, Vox, and CNET.

“Today we’re rolling out an awesome addition to your balanced media diet: Plex News. It’s the perfect complement to your media library — video news from some of the most trusted sources on the planet, presented beautifully and seamlessly alongside your own media. And because Plex is all about your media your way, you can personalize your news feed, and our advanced AI learns what you like and gets smarter the more you watch (since it’s just a robot, it’ll never mock your obsession with the Kardashians or insatiable appetite for stories about kittens being rescued from floods),” said Plex in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News.

Plex News will be available across all your devices (Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Android, and iOS to start). Plex Pass subscribers should have access to the new Plex News service today and non-Plex Pass subscribers will see it rolling out over the next few days.
