PlayStation Vue’s Recent Update Breaks Support For Some Amazon Fire TV Models

Yesterday Sony rolled out an update to PlayStation Vue’s Amazon Fire TV app to version 6.2.3. Sadly it seems that this update has broken support form some Fire TV models including the Fire TV Stick 4K. Now many PlayStation Vue subscribers are reporting constant stuttering video including. There is even a post about it on the official PlayStation Vue forums.

According to reports when trying to watch PlayStation Vue on channels that support 60 fps the video will stutter and appear very choppy at random times. Readers are reporting that this is making PlayStation Vue almost unusable.

Some readers have reported that if they uninstall PlayStation Vue from their Fire TV and reinstall it they are receiving the older version of the PlayStation Vue app. Sadly Cord Cutters News has not been able to replicate this. If you are experiencing this issue it may be worth a try to see if this fixes the issue for you.

Issues like this are not unusual for streaming services. With so many variations in streaming players, it is very easy for an unexpected issue to popup. Hopefully, Sony rolls out an update shortly to address the new issues on some Fire TV models.
