Before Andrew House left PlayStation Vue several major announcements were made that would have brought major change changes to the service. After John Kodera took over, many of the changes have been reversed or delayed indefinitely.
One of the biggest changes was the price hike on grandfathered PlayStation Vue Slim subscribers. In October 2017 subscribers to the grandfathered PlayStation Vue plan should have seen a $10 a month price hike. Now that has been quietly delayed indefinitely.
Sony had announced they were dropping the MGM HD channel from PlayStation Vue, but a few weeks ago Sony announced they had changed their mind and would be keeping MGM HD.
The other major change was with their locals. Sony announced they would realign PlayStation Vue locals to make sure subscribers are getting the correct locals. Sony stared to notify some PlayStation Vue subscribers that last Wednesday they would likely see some of their locals change or be switched to on-demand versions.
Once again last Wednesday came and went with no change for many of the subscribers who received the warning emails.
The last major change was to the PlayStation Vue Roku Channel, which updated to a new user interface more in line with the apps on other devices.
Some major changes are underway at Sony’s live TV streaming service; however, Sony has been quiet—making no announcements about them. For now that leaves subscribers wondering what will happen next, but clearly a major breath of fresh air has come into PlayStation Vue, and it will be interesting to see what they do next.
