PlayStation Vue Will Re-Add Tribune Fox Affiliates, Just Not Right Now

Back on December 15, 2017, PlayStation Vue dropped Tribune-owned Fox affiliates around the United States. Sadly, this happened just before the NFL playoffs started.

Ever since that happened we have been flooded with questions about if they will be re-added. The good news is, yes, they will almost certainly be re-added. The bad news is that the Tribune-owned Fox affiliates will not be re-added anytime soon.

Right now Sinclair is in the process of buying Tribune. Reportedly to head off any issues with approval, Sinclair has offered to sell some of their Fox affiliates to the Fox parent company.

The good news is both Sinclair and Fox have deals with Sony to stream their Fox-owned affiliates on PlayStation Vue. Look for Tribune-owned Fox affiliates to be included once the deal is done.

According to reports, the only thing holding up the closing of the deal for Sinclair to buy Tribune is federal approval. Now that Sinclair has agreed to sell of some of the Tribune-owned locals the deal will likely get approved.

For now the only thing holding up Tribune-owned Fox affiliates being added to PlayStation Vue is federal approval on Sinclair’s deal to buy them, which will likely happen this year. Once that happens though don’t look for them to show up overnight. It still may take a few weeks or months to get them streaming again.
