PlayStation Vue Has Stated to Add Digital Broadcast Networks to Their Service

Today PlayStation Vue added Decades to their lineup in what may be the first digital broadcast television network of many to come. Decades is owned by CBS and is one of the channels you will likely find on Channel 3.2 or 4.3 with your antenna.

First announced on October 21, 2014, the channels is a partnership between CBS Corporation and Weigel Broadcasting. The Decades channel, officially launched on January 16th 2015; through its part-ownership by CBS Corporation, Decades announced that owned-and-operated stations of the CBS television network would serve as its initial charter affiliates.

Decades programming primarily comes from the extensive content library owned by CBS Television Distribution, which includes the pre-2006 Paramount Television library. Decades also carries series and movies from NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Lionsgate, Sonar Entertainment, the Peter Rodgers Organization, Shout! Factory and The Carsey-Werner Company.

Decades seems to be available in all PlayStation Vue’s packages. Yet we are unsure if this is being carried as a local or if there is a national feed here. If you see Decades in your market leave us a comment and let us know.

Update: As best, we can tell everyone now has Decades even if you do not have CBS in your local market.

We have reached out to Sony for comment and will update this post when we learn more.
