PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, & More Now All Work on Amazon’s Echo Show

This week Amazon updated the Echo Show to include official support for Hulu’s on-demand and live TV streaming service. They also added a browser with support for Fire Fox and the Silk browser. With the Silk browser you now get access to a ton of streaming services through their website.

We can confirm that Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, DIRECTV NOW, and more all work with the newly updated Amazon Echo Show: both the 1st gen and the 2nd gen. You will need to have your Echo Show updated and have the Fire TV browser set up on your device.

So far, the only official streaming service apps to support the Echo Show are the Hulu app and the NBC app. Hopefully, more services make an official app for the Echo Show, because the browser is a little clunky and you can’t use voice commands with them.

With Hulu’s official app you can do things like ask your Alexa to open ESPN or play the next episode of Family Guy. To use other services through the browser you must first launch the browser and type in the address.

With the news that Amazon’s Echo Show now supports streaming services, it is one step closer to becoming the perfect kitchen TV.
