Update: Sony just removed the warning about AMC, Discovery, NBC, and Turner Networks being removed from PlayStation Vue. This seems to confirm a deal has been reached. The warning about the NFL Network is still on PlayStation Vue’s website.
Sony still has a warning message about possibly dropping AMC, Discovery, NBC, and Turner network on its website. So we don’t know if this is a short term extension or a long term deal to keep these networks on.
Right now all Cord Cutters News can report is what Sony is posting on the official PlayStation Vue website and what is happening on the service. At this time Sony is not replying to requests for comment on what is happening with the talks. Since Sony posted the warning on the PlayStation Vue website the page with the warning has been updated multiple times, yet they let the warning there. Hopefully, Sony will update their website soon with new information. Cord Cutters News will post updates as we learn more.
Here is the statement that Sony still has posted on the PlayStation Vue website about these negotiations:
Most of the programming/content you watch on PlayStation™Vue is licensed from programmers for the right to air their networks/channels. Once these agreements near expiration, we enter into renewal discussions where we work hard to obtain the best value for our customers. Though infrequent, sometimes certain licenses will not be renewed, in which case PlayStation™Vue would no longer carry the affected channels or networks. This section will be updated periodically to list channels and networks coming up for renewal. Please note that the dates listed below are subject to change.
