PlayStation Vue Reportedly Offers Best-In-Class Viewing Experience

Today Conviva released a study looking at live TV streaming services rebuffering rate and streaming bitrate. According to that study, PlayStation Vue offered the best bitrate for streaming quality with the fewest rebuffering.

“According to Q2 2018 data from Conviva, PlayStation Vue is an industry leader with their rebuffering ratio of 0.36% outperforming the US benchmark of 0.4% and the median of 1.12%.” Conviva said in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News.

According to Conviva PlayStation Vue only rebuffered 0.36% of the time. All the other live TV streaming services experienced rebuffering on average 1.12% of the time. When you look at the quality of the image on average live TV streaming services streamed at 3.07 Mbps but PlayStation Vue averaged 4.59 Mbps.

The version of the report Conviva sent to Cord Cutters News did not include a break down for other live TV streaming services. So I am not sure how far ahead PlayStation Vue is vs Hulu, Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, YouTube TV, Philo, or fuboTV to name a few. What we know is the averages are but not much past that. We have asked Conviva to supply Cord Cutters News with the same breakdown for other live TV streaming services. If we receive this data we will post the full break down.
