PlayStation Vue Removes DVR Restrictions on Some FOX Programming

For some time now select FOX-owned networks on PlayStation Vue forced on-demand versions on viewers in place of DVR recordings. When you used PlayStation Vue to DVR something on FX you may end up with an on-demand version with unescapable ads.

According to PlayStation Vue’s website, these are all the restrictions on FOX programming:

Fast-forwarding restrictions
Programs saved to My DVR from FOX, FX, and FXX will not allow fast forwarding

We are getting reports from readers that PlayStation Vue no longer forces on-demand for all FOX programs. We are also seeing reports of this posted on Reddit. This comes a day after Sony updated the PlayStation Vue app on the Apple TV to version 2.4.0, so other apps may need to be updated before this change takes effect.

Sony has yet to update the PlayStation Vue FAQ to reflect this change. Have you noticed this change? Leave us a comment and let us know what you saw.
