Now PlayStation Vue is rebranding their My Shows as My DVR. It seems that Sony is working hard to make the DVR more easy to find for new PlayStation Vue subscribers. This update was first seen on iOS and Android but seems to be rolling out slowly to all supported PlayStation Vue platforms.
One of the common questions we received in the past from new PlayStation Vue subscribers was how to find their DVR recordings ended. This move to rename My Shos to My DVR seems to be a straightforward move to make the service more welcoming to new subscribers.
Here are some of the other recent changes from PlayStation Vue:
Here is what we know about the new PlayStation Vue Out of Home streaming rules:
Number of Streams Outside of Your Home
Your home area is determined by the zip code you used when you signed up for PlayStation Vue. With these new rules, you can stream on up to three devices at the same time outside of your home network. If you are inside your home area, you get two extra streams bringing the total of streams at once to five.
Streaming on a Set-Top Box or Stick Outside Your Home
You can now use a streaming player to stream PlayStation Vue outside of your home with one device at a time. That includes streaming in your home network. So you will not be able to use your Roku at a hotel at the same time your kids try to stream on a Roku back at home.
Regional Sports
You can watch your regional sports teams if you have signed into PlayStation Vue from your home area from the zip code you used when you subscribed. You still need to randomly check in at your home market or you may lose access to your home regional sports teams.
Sadly NHL games are not available to stream outside of your local area.
Time Limit
You can stream PlayStation Vue outside of your home area for up to 59 consecutive days. If you try to stream outside of your home area on the 60th day, you will receive an onscreen error message notifying you that you need to return to your home area and log in again. (You will see a warning message after 30 days.)
While you are traveling:
- You can find and watch shows from your My Shows library.
- You can add shows to your My Shows library.
- On Demand shows added to My Shows library prior to your traveling are available at your destination.
- You cannot record your destination local channels or the content of the destination you are visiting.
Outside of the United States:
PlayStation Vue only works in the United States. If you travel outside of the United States, PlayStation Vue will not work.
