PlayStation Vue Makes Changes to Its Free Trial

Sony recently PlayStation Vue added new channels such as the MLB Network and last fall it added NFL Network to its PlayStation Vue service; however, it also has been quietly making another change.

The big change was to drop the 7-day free trial down to just 5 days. No big announcement was made about this change and as best I can tell it happened just this week.

No explanation has been given for this change, and it seems weirdly timed because Hulu and Google’s YouTube TV are near to launching new live TV streaming services. It must be some type of effort to lower costs by reducing what it pays for free trials. For now though both Sling TV and DIRECTV NOW are offering a 7 day free trial.

Even though you may get a free trial, services such as PlayStation Vue often have to pay content owners for each free trial or they pay some type of upfront flat fee. Details are still thin on this, but hopefully there are no other changes.

Yet the good news is you can still try PlayStation Vue for free before you have to pay for it.

We have reached out to Sony for comment and will update this post when we learn more.
