Starting tomorrow September 18 2019, you may notice a few channels have moved in the PlayStation Vue lineup. Sony has announced that Destination America and the Science Channel will be moving from the basic Access Plan to the high end Elite Plan. Now MotoTrend will be moved down to the Access Plan.
Exactly why these changes are being made is unknown, but recently Sony struck a new deal with Discovery. The timing of this move may have to do with the new terms of Sony’s deal with Discovery.
Here is the notice Sony posted on its website:
- On 9/18/2019, Destination America and Science Channel will be moving from Access Plan to Elite Plan
- Access and Core subscribers will lose Destination America and Science Channel. All of their associated On Demand and DVR content will no longer be viewable. If you wish to continue watching Destination America and Science Channel subscribers will need to upgrade to Elite Plan or above.
- MotorTrend will become available in the Access Plan and may be enjoyed by all plan subscribers.
