PlayStation Vue Adds Support for Google Chromebooks

Sometime recently PlayStation Vue quietly added support for Google Chromebooks. Until recently you needed a newer Chromebook that supported Android apps so you could install the PlayStation Vue app if you wanted to watch on a Chromebook. Now that has all changed.

As best we can tell this happened sometime in the last few weeks. To take advantage, you still need a newer Chromebook. Older Chromebooks do not seem to support PlayStation Vue.

PlayStation Vue first started to offer HTML5 back in November 2016. Yet parts of it still used Flash at that time as PlayStation Vue would still ask for Flash permissions. Now it seems Sony is offering a full HTML5 version that is compatible with Google Chromebooks.

You can still use the Android app on newer Chromebooks but now you also have the option to access PlayStation Vue through your web browser.

Recently Chromebooks have been seeing strong sales especially in schools. The low priced computers offer a range of features and a Chrome web browser for internet access. Add in super powerful battery life and a Chromebook has been the pick for many recently.

Now that PlayStation Vue is available on Chromebooks it opens up the live TV streaming service to new subscribers.
