Now Sony’s PlayStation Vue is adding a new app to its lineup with the addition of the NESNgo app. The new NESNgo app will allow PlayStation Vue subscribers to get in-market access to Red Sox games through the NESNgo app when they are away from home.
Other services such as Sling TV and DIRECTV NOW have taken a different approach of offering the content found in channels’ apps inside their own apps. When Cord Cutters News asked about this, we have been told this is an effort to keep costs low. (Both do offer access to many popular apps like WatchESPN.)
According to third parties inside the industry, services such as PlayStation Vue pay for the right to have their users be able to access the content on apps such as BTN2GO and Fox Sports Go.
