‘Phineas and Ferb’ Movie Coming to Disney+ This Summer

Disney+ has announced the title for its new movie, “Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” which is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the streaming service August 28.

“Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe” is an adventure story that tracks stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb as they set out across the galaxy to rescue their older sister Candace, who after being abducted by aliens, finds utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers.

To the delight of fans, the new animated film will feature the same voice talents as the original series and movie, with Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, and Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn. Ferb Fletcher will be voiced by a newcomer to the cast, David Errigo Jr.

It sounds like the themes and other elements of the movie will stay true to the Phineas and Ferb productions fans have come to know and love, but with a little something new to keep things entertaining.

“It’s a tightrope walk when you have a whole generation of [fans] that you know are going to tune into this, and you want to give them stuff, but you also want to give the new people something that they can they can digest,” co-creator Dan Povenmire told EW of the film. “But we just wanted to make sure that the people who grew up with Phineas and Ferb would love the movie. We’re hoping that this show gets watched in college dorm rooms all over the country.”
