Plans and Pricing

Last month, Philo announced that they would be eliminating their $16/month package and moving to a single package option on May 6. That single package costs $20/month. You can try Philo out with a 7 day free trial before subscribing.

Currently, Sling has a deal, offering 40% off on each of their packages for the first three months of a subscription. With that deal, you can get Sling Blue for just $15/month. When the deal expires, you’ll pay $25/month. Sling is also currently offering an extended free trial, giving new customers the chance to try out the streaming service for 14 days.

Channel and Price Comparison

With a Philo subscription, you’ll get 58 channels for $20/month, bringing the cost per channel to 34 cents.

With Sling Blue, you’ll get 49 channels for $15/month for 3 months, coming in at about 31 cents per channel. After the promotional deal, you’ll pay $25/month, bringing that cost up to 51 cents per channel.

Both Sling Blue and Philo allow you to stream content on up to 3 devices simultaneously.

Cloud DVR

Philo offers unlimited Cloud DVR storage, so you can save as many shows as you want. Your content will be saved for 30 days after recording.

With Sling TV, Cloud DVR can be added on as an extra for an additional $5/month. When you add Cloud DVR on, you’ll be able to record and watch live TV, fast forward through commercials, keep your recordings for as long as you’re a customer, and record multiple shows at once.
