Philo is Developing Its First Original Series

Philo announced today that it’s getting into the original content game. The streaming service has teamed up with entertainment company Kin for Boss Moves, with Love and Hip-Hop star Rasheeda Frost, a new original series with twelve 30 minute episodes.

Here’s how Philo describes the new series, premiering in April 2022.

Rasheeda will welcome audiences into her homes and businesses and behind the scenes of her many financial decisions. Whether she’s tackling the restaurant game with Frost Bistro & Bar or international real estate with the purchase of a home in The Bahamas – nothing is out of bounds when it comes to Rasheeda.

In addition to the new original series, Philo is adding over 65 hours of programming from Kin to its platform. Titles from the women’s lifestyle brand include Hello Hunnay with Jeannie  Mai Jenkins, Really, Truly, Maybe with Christina Milian, and 9 to Wine with former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe. The content will be available with Philo’s base package.

“We’re thrilled to bring Kin’s entertaining and diverse content to our platform for our subscribers,” said Mike Keyserling, COO, Philo. “Kin’s programming, which specifically focuses on entrepreneurship and female empowerment, is a great fit for Philo’s community. We are certain that Philo subscribers will enjoy the extensive catalog of Kin shows, as well as Boss Moves, our upcoming new original series with Rasheeda.”

Tejal Ajmera, COO of Kin, said, “Kin creates programming that resonates with women of all backgrounds, wherever they are watching.  We are excited to debut Boss Moves with Philo and are  confident it will attract audiences looking for strong, talented, and diverse talent.”
