Peacock Saw a $217 Million Loss in Q3, Subscribers Stay at 41 Million

NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock, owned by parent company Comcast, had a $217 million loss in the third quarter of 2025, following a $436 million for the same quarter in 2024. Peacock subscribers remained at 41 million by the end of the quarter.

An investment in sports is expected to give Peacock a boost for the end of the year. This month, NBCUniversal launched its partnership with the NBA, bringing the league back to NBC and streaming on Peacock for the first time.

“Peacock will be the most fun and engaging place to stream NBA games for longtime basketball fans and new ones, too,” said Rick Cordella, President of NBC Sports when the media rights deal was announced. “We’re bringing the same level of innovation, inspiration, and commitment that we’ve brought to so many other huge sports moments and leagues to deliver an intuitive, interactive, and reliable streaming experience that the full range of NBA fans will enjoy.”

Peacock’s NBA coverage, part of an 11-year agreement with the NBA, includes exclusive Monday night games, Tuesday night regional doubleheaders, and will include Sunday Night Basketball starting in 2026.

Sunday Night Football should also give the streamer a boost through the season. Peacock will stream all 25 games produced by NBC Sports, including the regular season and postseason. In addition to the regular season, NBC Sports will air two NFL Playoff games, one in the Wild Card Round and one Divisional Round game live on Peacock and NBC.
