Peacock Introduces Local News Channels From NBC-Owned Stations

Peacock announced today that it will expand its local news content by adding channels from NBC-owned stations in select markets. All Peacock users will now have access to NBC 5 Chicago (WMAQ), NBC 10 Philadelphia (WCAU), NBC10 Boston (WBTS) and New England Cable Network (NECN), and NBC 6 Miami (WTVJ). Peacock will also add NBC 4 New York (WNBC) and NBC 4 Los Angeles (KNBC) to the lineup in the coming months.

The channels will be available to all Peacock users rather than making content available only to local users in the areas the stations serve. The channels will feature simulcast programming, encore news presentations, and additional programming from NBC stations including news, weather, sports, and lifestyle content.

“We’re thrilled to add the incredible reporting of our NBC-owned television stations to Peacock’s unique programming slate that both informs and entertains. We know the importance of local news to our subscribers and this further distinguishes the Peacock experience where you can stream everything from award-winning news content to original scripted shows, premium movies, live sports and more all on our platform.” said Jen Brown, SVP of Program Planning for Peacock.

The newly added channels join Peacock’s existing lineup of news programming with live and on-demand channels including NBC News Now, Sky News, Today All Day, NBC LX, Telemundo Al Día, and Dateline 24/7, along with curated playlists from Today, NBC Nightly News, Meet the Press, Noticias Telemundo, Access Hollywood, CNBC, E! News, MSNBC, NBC Sports, and 11 additional NBC stations from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., San Diego and Connecticut.
