Paramount+ Turns One Year Old: Here Are its Most Popular Shows and Movies So Far

Paramount+ is celebrating its first birthday this month. The streaming service launched on March 4, 2021 and has seen substantial growth during its first year, reporting 32.8 million subscribers by the end of the Q4.

Paramount+ offers a library with more than 30,000 episodes and movies from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Paramount Pictures and Smithsonian Channel, plus exclusive originals, live sports, breaking news, kids and family programming.

After one year, Reality TV has made up the largest portion of content in terms of popularity, with the genre accounting for 36.1% of the most popular titles last year according to JustWatch. However, the Yellowstone spinoff 1883 made up a whopping 18.9% of the overall popularity on the streaming service.

In Movies, A Quiet Pllace Par II was by far the most popular title among Paramount+ viewers with 24.4% share, followed by Interstellar at 16.8%. The streamer also saw success with kids and family content including Clifford the Big Red Dog (6.5%) and Paw Patrol The Movie (6.1%).

Paramount+ is celebrating its one year anniversary with a deal for new customers, offering 80% off its monthly packages now through March 7. The Paramount+ Prime Video Channel is also on sale this weekend.
