Paramount Network Sets Date for ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 and Two New Taylor Sheridan Series

MTV Entertainment Studios has revealed the date for the return of its popular series Yellowstone, and fans are already trying to predict what will happen to the Duttons. The modern Taylor Sheridan’s western drama will premiere with two back-to-back episodes Sunday, Nov. 7 on Paramount Network.

Additionally, the new spin-off series 1883 which is a prequel to Yellowstone will premiere Dec. 19 on the network’s streaming service Paramount+. The series follows the Dutton family before they owned the largest ranch in the U.S. and documents their journey across the plains to claim and settle new land in Montana as part of the Western expansion.

Paramount+ is also getting another new Taylor Sheridan drama series this fall – Mayor of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner. According to IMDb, “Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”

While the two new series will call Paramount+ home, the network is leveraging the popularity and fanbase Yellowstone has created to serve as a launchpad for the upcoming new shows. The first episodes of Mayor of Kingstown and 1883 will premiere on their respective dates in a special simulcast on Paramount Network after the regularly scheduled Yellowstone episodes air.

“Our strategy is to make Yellowstone, the massive # 1 hit with more than 10 million fans, into a global hit franchise under the incredible creative vision of Taylor Sheridan’s world building storytelling,” said Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, MTV Entertainment. “These new series will debut on Paramount+ and have special premiere day sneak episodes behind Yellowstone introducing this huge audience to these new stories, allowing us to leverage our linear platforms to fuel the growth of Paramount+ which will stream each series exclusively after episode two.”
