Update: The clip of Smile 2 is on Paramount’s website and the story was updated to reflect that.
Paramount’s Smile franchise has seen commercial success in part due to its creative marketing campaign. After its release on October 18, Smile 2 raked in nearly $110 million on a $28 million budget, and now, the film is making buzz before its eventual VOD release.
Fans can check out the first seven minutes of the psychological supernatural horror film for free online but you have to smile the entire time to watch it.

Get your grin on by watching Smile 2 for free here. The link will take you to the player with the prompt “Watch the First 7 Minutes… Only If You Smile.” Next, enter your date of birth, and then you will have to allow access to your camera to begin streaming.
After you grant access, click Tap to Smile and the clip will begin playing. If you stop smiling, the clip will pause and you will be prompted to keep smiling for it to resume.
Director and writer Parker Finn returned for the sequel that follows Grammy-winning pop star Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) preparing for a comeback tour but experiencing several disturbing events before the tour begins. Kyle Gallner reprises his role from the first film and Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Ray Nicholson, Dylan Gelula, and Raúl Castillo join the cast for the sequel.
In 2022, the first film was a commercial and financial success and made news due to its viral marketing campaigns that featured actors with creepy smiles appearing during MLB games. However, the sequel wasn’t to be outdone as actors were planted in the crowd during last month’s NLCS game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets.
