Paid ATSC 3.0 Based Service Evoca is Now Live in Boise, Idaho

Evoca has kicked off its early access program for residents of Boise, Idaho. Evoca is a new company aiming to leverage ATSC 3.0 to offer pay TV service. The company says it offers “unmatched audio and video clarity and a variety of quality, must-watch TV programming for less than $50 per month.”

Those in the early access program in Boise will be able to watch Evoca’s programming lineup with a proprietary receiver called “Scout.” Programming includes live local sports, news, and weather, along with on-demand content. (A full channel lineup is available at Evoca.tv.)

Evoca says it is also prepared to deliver 4K Ultra HDTV programming as it becomes available.

“Evoca will unlock a wide variety of programming for over-the-air TV, including channels in up to 4K ultra high-definition quality.  After years of development, we are finally ready to launch what we believe will become a top choice for next-generation television programming,” said Evoca President and CEO Todd Achilles. “With the power of our exclusive ATSC 3.0 broadcast towers and our ‘Scout’ receiver with industry-first capabilities, we can deliver the highest quality, reliable programming at an affordable cost.”

Boise residents can visit Evoca.tv to sign up for the “early access” program offer, which includes an exclusive introductory rate of $20 per month through the end of 2020, as well as the HD antenna and receiver. The service will roll out to all residents of Boise late this year and additional markets will be added in 2021.
