On Patrol: Live Renewed for Season 4 as Reelz Doubles Down on Hit Series

Fans of On Patrol: Live can rest easy. Reelz has renewed the hit reality series for a fourth season, securing another 90 episodes that will keep it on the air through early 2026. The announcement, as covered by TVSeriesFinale, comes as the network continues to lean heavily on the show’s success, doubling down with additional episodes of its spin-off, On Patrol: First Shift.

Airing before On Patrol: Live, First Shift offers a retrospective look at past episodes, giving viewers a chance to revisit key moments before diving into new live-action patrols. The move reinforces Reelz’s commitment to law enforcement reality programming. Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard acknowledged the show’s importance to the network, stating that while cable networks face mounting pressure, On Patrol: Live has become a defining part of Reelz’s identity. “It’s a tremendous amount of programming,” Hubbard told Variety, adding, “But it’s working for us, at a time when cable networks are generally under a lot of pressure. It’s a source of pride… we’re all about On Patrol: Live now, that’s what this network is.”

The show, hosted by Dan Abrams, Sean “Sticks” Larkin, and Curtis Wilson, has proven to be a major draw for Reelz, offering real-time footage of police officers on duty across various U.S. cities. The series follows in the footsteps of Live PD, which was canceled in 2020 before being revived under its new title on Reelz. Abrams, who has been a central figure in both iterations of the show, emphasized his dedication to its continued run. “My Friday and Saturday nights are now committed for the next year,” he said. “I am hopeful and optimistic that there’s no real end in sight for this show. I think it’s a good show from a TV perspective, but I also think it’s an important one for people to get a little glimpse at what law enforcement does every day.”

As of January 2025, On Patrol: Live is available for streaming on several platforms. You can watch the show live on Reelz through streaming services such as Philo, DIRECTV STREAM, Sling TV, and FreeCast. Additionally, Philo offers on-demand access to episodes of On Patrol: Live.

The news is a rare bright spot for traditional cable networks, which have struggled to maintain viewership in the streaming era. With live programming remaining a key selling point for linear TV, On Patrol: Live continues to stand out as a ratings winner for Reelz.

For fans, the renewal ensures a steady stream of Friday and Saturday night patrols, while the expanded run of First Shift provides even more behind-the-scenes insights. As Reelz solidifies its identity around On Patrol: Live, it’s clear the network is betting big on the format—and, for now, that bet is paying off.
