We’ve been covering the development of next-generation graphics cards from both Nvidia and AMD for a while now. And the latest rumors suggest Nvidia could start mass producing its new high-end GPUs this August, in time for a potential September release.

German tech site Igor’s Lab built out a possible timeline for the company’s rumored RTX 3080 and 3090 graphics cards. Both products would represent the top end of the company next generation of graphics tech, and would likely be best suited for high-end gaming rigs. But the architecture they’re based on will serve as the basis of a whole family of products, including more affordable options that could be more at home in a gaming-capable media PC.

Based on the timeline, mass production for the 3080 and 3090 could begin in August, paving the way for a reveal in September, which lines up with previous rumors. There’s no official word yet on potential pricing, but Nvidia’s top-of-the-line GPUs typically aren’t cheap. In any case, we’ll continue to monitor both Nvidia’s and AMD’s launch plans as we get closer to what could be a very busy September.
