NHL Increases National Games to 172: Hulu, ESPN, HBO Max & More to Stream

The NHL just dropped its national TV slate for the 2025-26 season, and cord cutters can get their roadmap ready to follow all of the action on the ice. ESPN, ESPN+, Hulu, and HBO Max will stream 172 games in primetime, beginning with Opening Night on October 7.

The upcoming season is filled with marquee games, including outdoor events and primetime doubleheaders, and showdowns. ESPN’s national window will include 100 games, including specials like “NHL Frozen Frenzy” and the 2026 Stadium Series in Tampa on Feb. 1. TNT Sports is home to the other 72 games, including the Winter Classic on Jan. 2.

Throughout the season, fans can stream TNT Sports coverage of Tuesday/Wednesday primetime games live on HBO Max. For out-of-market content, more than 1050 games, and some national games, ESPN+ and Hulu will have you covered. All of ESPN’s coverage will also stream in the network’s new direct-to-consumer app.
