Michigan State University is now transmitting ATSC 3.0, making East Lansing the 11th market to launch NextGen TV.

TV Technology reports that Michigan State’s WKAR was given an experimental license to begin broadcasting ATSC 3.0 in 2018. The following year, the university opened the Media Innovation Lab where students, faculty, and researchers worked together to study the future of TV and how NextGen TV would impact the industry.

These are the markets that are “on the air” with ATSC 3.0 so far:

Austin, TX; Denver; Los Angeles; Mobile, AL – Pensacola, FL; and Oklahoma City are reportedly preparing for ATSC 3.0 to go live next.
