KTLA will continue to host Los Angeles Clipper games through 2025.

KTLA, owned by local broadcasting giant Nexstar, has extended its contract with the Clippers through the 2024-25 season, the station said in a release.

This marks the 15th season in which the Clippers will be on KTLA. While the Clippers often fall in the shadow of the more successful Los Angeles Lakers, their games are an important way for Nexstar to shore up content as it takes over the CW channels. The live sports will also be doubly critical as CW works to fill out its programming, with the Hollywood strike halting production of new content. KTLA served as the West Coast flagship channel in the for the former CW Television Network.

“Making live Clippers games available to all Southern California viewers is a priority for the Clippers, especially as we prepare to move into our new home, Intuit Dome, for the 2024-25 season,” said Clippers President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker. “KTLA proved last year that
not only are they an incredible broadcast partner, but one who helps us reach millions of fans through live games, their #1 local newscast, and special Clippers programming.”

KTLA 5 will televise 15 games in this season, including four preseason games. Tipoff for the channel’s coverage beings on September 14.

The company also noted that a new miniseries titled Clippers’ Clipboard will air during KTLA’s morning news, with the premiere that day. The series will include interviews with NBA stars like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

“Once again, from the start of Clippers training camp to home games in a new arena, ‘LA’s Very Own’ KTLA 5 will be there every exciting step of the way,” said KTLA-TV Vice President and General Manager Janene Drafs.
