A new streaming service is headed to the U.S. this spring. Dubbed the “French BritBox,” France Channels is a streaming service dedicated to showcasing French content, similar to how BritBox focuses on British-specific content. The service will be available to stream with both French and English subtitles.
According to Deadline, the company says it will feature more than 2,000 hours of content focused on French culture and audio-visual creation, encompassing films, series, documentaries, animations, and live shows. Additionally, the service will also feature access to both breaking news in both French and English on France 24, a French state-owned international news television network based in Paris.
France Channels has reached a deal with Netgem for technology for its distribution platform. While there’s no news yeat on how much the service will cost, subscribers will be able to access it via web, iOS and Android. It will also be available thanks to deals with American partners including Roku and Struum.
