New Details on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football Deal

The imaginary stadium is modelled and rendered.Yesterday I had an opportunity to meet with the team behind Amazon’s new Thursday Night NFL Football games. I learned a lot and had many of your most popular questions answered.

What devices will be supported?

Amazon’s staff told Cord Cutters News that every device that has an Amazon Prime Video app will offer the Thursday Night NFL games. That means Roku, Nvidia Shield, Android, and even the Echo Show will stream Thursday Night Football.

What games will be included?

Starting next week every Thursday Night NFL Football game that airs on CBS and NBC will be streamed on Amazon Prime. Amazon will also stream a Christmas Day game on top of its Thursday Night NFL games.

This will not include NFL Network games. You will still need Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, or fuboTV to access NFL games that air on the NFL Network.

Will there be annoying ads over the game?

I have good news for everyone who is concerned about Amazon cramming ads—popups or other types—over the game. Amazon staff told Cord Cutters News that the experience of watching NFL football on Amazon will be the same as if you had an antenna.

What do we still not know?

There are still a few things we do not know about Amazon’s Thursday Night Football plans. What will the screen look like? Because the streams of Thursday Night Football start next week, Amazon did not show a stream running on a Fire TV or any device at the event. So we do not know exactly what the feed will look like.
