A New $20 “Sports Free” Streaming Service is Almost a Reality

Hate sports but still want live TV? Well it looks like a new service called Philo will offer live TV without all the sports.

According to reports from The Wall Street Journal Viacom, AMC Networks, A+E Networks, Scripps Networks Interactive and Discovery Communications are putting some of their networks into the over-the-top package, which will cost less than $20 a month.

We are unsure if you will be able to get news with this service. There has been reports in the past that this service would be sports and news free. More recent reports only say sports free right now.

According to multiple sources, the new Philo service will have a soft launch in the next few weeks to test out the service. From there a public launch will follow in the months to come.

The service is named after Philo Farnsworth, who invented television. The question now is will Philo be able to reinvent TV with their new service.
