Netflix & YouTube Have More Daytime Viewers Than ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC As Cable TV Viewership Continues to Drop

We have all heard about how cable TV is struggling as they lose subscribers but they are also losing the battle of viewership. Now according to new numbers from TV Grim Reaper, who follows the world of TV, shows us how streaming is dominating traditional cable TV. TV Grim Reaper on Twitter follows streaming and traditional TV with a great track of inside info.

According to these numbers, YouTube and Netflix have more daytime viewing than ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. Amazon Hulu has more than NBC and FOX. Lastly, Amazon has more viewership than FOX.

It is also interesting to see many free streaming services like Pluto TV, Tubi, and The Roku Channel out performing many major cable networks, including ESPN, TNT, HGTV, and more.

Disney+ is even out performing many news channels including Fox NEws and MSNBC.

Here are the average daytime viewing numbers according to TV Grim Reaper: (In Millions)

These numbers once again show how TV viewership is changing. Long gone are the days of everyone watching reruns or daytime shows on cable TV. Now increasingly, people are turning away from cable TV to their favorite streaming services, even during the popular day TV television window people often use for background noise.

With the current writers and actors strike and the lack of new programming on cable TV, many are wondering if this trend will speed up in the fall of 2023. The lack of new programing on ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC could push people to streaming to find something new vs reality shows or reruns.
