Netflix will rally the clan after it was announced that the platform is bringing Supercell’s mega-hit universe to the small screen. The streaming giant has greenlit an animated series set in the wacky, war-torn world of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, now in early pre-production.
Launched in 2012 on iOS and Android, the Clash games have accumulated over four billion downloads and over 180 billion gameplay hours worldwide and are two of the biggest games of all time. The upcoming adaptation will be helmed by veteran shorts director and showrunner Fletcher Moules. His vision for the wildly popular mini-episodes has already racked up hundreds of millions of views, and he will be joined by comedy heavyweight Ron Weiner from 30 Rock and Futurama fame on script duties. Vancouver’s ICON Creative Studio, fresh from Young Jedi Adventures, will be tasked with bringing those glorious barbarian mustaches and goblin grins that fans love to life.
“Clash has been a global gaming phenomenon for over a decade — filled with humor, action, and unforgettable characters perfect for an animated series adaptation,” says Vice President of Animation Series at Netflix John Derderian in a statement. “Working with the incredible team at Supercell, Fletcher Moules, and Ron Weiner, we’re bringing all the fun, chaos, and spirit of the world of Clash to life in a whole new way. We can’t wait for fans — old and new — to experience the mayhem.”
Since its founding in 2010 in Helsinki, video game developer Supercell sprang up on May 14, 2010 has seen massive success in the world of mobile gaming. The Clash games have generated billions of dollars and is one of the highest-grossing mobile games ever made. The Finnish-based developer now employs over 500 across offices in San Francisco, London, Seoul, and Shanghai, using small teams that make a big impact.

We will have to wait for a premiere date and a sneak-peek trailer, but until then, fans, sharpen your battle axes, stockpile your spells, and start drafting your dream team of Barbarians, Wizards, and more.
