Netflix Is Speeding Up Its Auto Play Feature

Have you been noticing that Netflix’s Auto Play feature is starting a little faster lately? You are not imagining it, Netflix has sped up the Auto Play feature for some of its titles.

Netflix’s Auto Play feature automatically begins a show when you click on a movie or show to read the description. In the past all shows and movies would start after about 20 seconds from when you opened the more details. Netflix has changed that on some movies and TV shows.

Now if you open a Netflix original movie or TV show you will find it starts in just five seconds. Other shows and movies on Netflix will still start at 20 seconds.

So why is Netflix making this change? It is likely an effort to help drive up its viewer count. Though it likely goes much deeper than just a viewer count to show to investors. Netflix also seems to think if the show starts you are far more likely to watch it than if it did not.

Cord Cutters News did reach out to Netflix for comment on this story, and Netflix declined to comment at this time.
