Netflix Orders a South Korean Drama Called ‘Round Six’

Netflix has ordered a South Korean drama which will become the newest Netflix Original in the K-drama category, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot of Round Six involves a game with a grand prize of $10 million for the winner. Those invited to the survival game are struggling through life, giving them each more motivation to survive the game and win the prize. Throughout the game are parts of well known Korean children’s games.

Award-winning director Hwang Dong-hyuk will produce the film. Hwang is bet known for Miss Granny, a box office hit throughout Asia. This is his first global streaming deal.

“I’m already thrilled at the prospect of introducing Round Six to a global audience through Netflix,” Hwang told South Korean media. “I also have high expectations for the great collaborative work I’ll be having with them.”

Round Six will premiere on Netflix worldwide. No release date has been set.
