Netflix Launches In Germany This Week

 

The German business magazine Wirtschafts Woche reported that Netflix will begin offering its services on Tuesday in Germany. Netflix has reportedly developed partnerships with Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone.

Netflix has refused to confirm the release date only saying they expect to release Netflix in Germany “soon”. The iPhone, Android and Windows Phone apps have been available for download since Friday.

Users who downloaded them reported that the prices displayed were €7.99 for a monthly subscription or €11.99 for the service’s Ultra-HD offering.

The German market is already very crowded with four large subscription TV competitors in Maxdome, Watchever, Amazon Prime Instant and Sky Snap. With out knowing Netflix lineup at release it is hard to saw how the services will compare.

Netflix currently has around 50 million subscribers from around the world. Germany is the 16th largest country in with over 80 million people for Netflix to tap into.
