Netflix has just released the first trailer for Macots a brand new comedy from filmmaker Christopher Guest. Macots is Guest’s first original feature since 2006’s buzz filled Oscar film For Your Consideration, and yes, it’s a mockumentary in the vein of Best in Show and A Mighty Wind. Macots reunites Guest with his regular troupe of actors, including Jane Lynch, Fred Willard, Ed Begley Jr., Parker Posey, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, andJohn Michael Higgins. This group of actors takes on the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots as they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy.
Mascots will be releaased on Netflix Oct. 13 and will have its world premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
