Netflix Just Gave Android Owners Something They Have Been Demanding

Late last year Netflix started to allow downloading of Netflix movies and TV shows to phones and tablets but limited it to just the memory built in to your phone.

That often meant subscribers could only download a few hours of content due to limited phone space. Android users now have good news. Starting today you will be able to download Netflix movies and TV shows to the microSD card on your phone.

Android users will be able to download hundreds of hours of movies onto a microSD memory card, some of which go up to 256GB of storage. But remember you can only play Netflix files on the device you downloaded them on. So you will not be able to download the files on your phone and move them to your tablet because Netflix locks them to the device you first downloaded them on.

A Netflix rep told Engadget that you can download content to multiple SD cards. “However, there are limits to how many simultaneous downloads a member can download at one time, along with limits on how long a download will remain accessible,” the person said. “This ensures that the feature is being used for its intended purpose.”

Sadly iPhone owners do not have an SD memory card slot, so they will still be limited to how much internal storage their phone has.
