Netflix Announces Premiere Date for Umbrella Academy Season 2

Netflix has announced the release date of season 2 for its original series The Umbrella Academy and shared the announcement with a video made by the cast from their homes.

Season 2 will be released on July 31, worldwide on Netflix.

“The Umbrella Academy” stars Ellen Page, Mary J. Blige, Cameron Britton, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Colm Feore, Adam Godley, John Magaro, Ashley Madekwe and Kate Walsh. Next season, the cast will also include Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood and Marin Ireland.

In The Umbrella Academy, 43 infants are born in 1989, to women who showed no signs of pregnancy. Seven of the 43 are adopted by a billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates The Umbrella Academy to prepare his “children” to save the world. Six of the original seven come back together when their “father” passes away. They work together to uncover a mystery, while dealing with a global apocalypse. The series is based on Graphic novels created by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way.
