For over twenty years, NCIS has been a cornerstone of procedural drama, building a passionate fanbase around its ensemble cast and character-driven storytelling. The universe is expanding and the story continues on Paramount+ with NCIS: Tony & Ziva, reuniting two of the franchise’s most beloved figures.
Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) became iconic through their dynamic “Tiva” relationship on NCIS. Tony evolved from a wisecracking agent to a deeply layered character over 13 seasons. Ziva arrived as a Mossad liaison whose formidable skills and complex backstory quickly made her indispensable to the series. The duo returns in the new series that blends espionage thrills, family drama, and the rekindled partnership fans have long awaited.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up after the events in NCIS, where Ziva was presumed dead, and Tony steps away to raise their daughter, Tali, in Paris. Years later, Ziva is revealed to be alive and completes a final NCIS assignment before reuniting with Tony and Tali in the City of Light. Now settled into family life, they face a sudden attack on Tony’s security firm that forces them to flee across Europe. The plot centers on uncovering who is targeting them, confronting trust issues leftover from past traumas, and striving for an “unconventional happily ever after”
Joining Weatherly and de Pablo, the series stars Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Nassima Benchicou, Terence Maynard, Julian Ovenden, and James D’Arcy. John McNamara will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producer credits include Weatherly, de Pablo, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, Shelley Meals, and Mairzee Almas.
“We’re beyond excited to finally share Tony and Ziva’s next chapter with the incredible fans around the world who never stopped believing this day would come,” said stars and executive producers Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. “Returning to these roles together on screen after more than a decade has been an unforgettable journey packed with lies, spies, danger, desire…..and self-driving murder cars. (Don’t worry, that last one will make sense soon). This is one wild ride you won’t want to miss, and as they say in Paris: Accrochez-vous bien!“
Long-time viewers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Japan, eager to see where Tony and Ziva’s journey goes next, can tune into the three-episode premiere on Thursday, September 4. The latest installment in the franchise will consist of 10 episodes, dropping weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on October 23.
