NBCUniversal to Air “Unprecedented” 7000 Hours of Olympic Coverage

NBCUniversal will air more than 7,000 hours of coverage of the Tokyo Olympics this summer. The competitions will air across its networks and streaming platforms including NBC, NBCSN, and CNBC, The Olympic Channel, The Golf Channel, USA Network, and Spanish Language coverage on Telemundo Deportes. Peacock will be streaming four daily shows during the Olympics, with information about additional coverage coming soon.

This year’s Olympic games will run from July 23 to August 8 after being postponed in 2020 due to the global pandemic. This year’s events will also mark the first time baseball, softball, skateboarding, karate, and surfing will be added to the games, totaling 41 sporting events in all.

Coverage for the Tokyo Olympics will be “unprecedented” according to a statement from NBC Olympics production president Molly Solomon, and that it will showcase “once-in-a-generation athletes and storylines that will capture the incredible uniqueness of these Games and our times.”

You can stream more than 5,000 hours on NBColympics.com, in addition to popular competitions such as men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics, swimming, soccer, and more on NBC. More than 440 hours of coverage will air on cable sports network NBCSN, with more than 380 hours on USA Network. CNBC, which has been airing Olympic games since 2000, will air more than 100 hours of coverage of diving, beach volleyball, rowing, water polo and rugby during prime-time. Spanish Language coverage of competitions will be available on Telemundo Deportes.

In addition, The Golf Channel is set to show golf events while The Olympic Channel will air coverage of Team USA competitions.
