NBCUniversal Considering $10 Price Point for Ad-Free Peacock

NBCUniversal is considering a $10 price point for an ad-free version of Peacock, with an ad-supported version priced at $4.99, according to sources for The Information.

Previously, we heard that NBCU was looking into the possibility of making an ad-supported version of the streaming service free for all users. This would have made Peacock the first free streaming service from a major network. At $10, this would put the new service between HBO Max, which will cost $15/month, and Disney+ which costs $6.99/month. Apple TV+ is the least expensive of the recently launched or soon to launch streaming services at $4.99/month.

Comcast has announced that they will be holding an investor meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2020 when we should learn more details about Peacock, including the price of both the ad-free and ad-supported tier of the service. Comcast will be doing a live webcast of that meeting on their website if you want to hear the announcements live. We’ll be covering all the news on the blog, giving you the highlights of what to expect when Peacock launches in April 2020.
