NBC Sports is Launching a Cord Cutting Sports Streaming Service for Restaurants & Bars

One of the most significant issues with streaming services is they don’t have a commercial license to let the services be used in bars, restaurants, waiting rooms, and more. These so-called public viewing rules have limited the ability for many small restaurant and bar owners from cutting the cord. Today NBC announced a new service to address that called NBC SPORTS PUB PASS. This new service will include public viewing as apart of the subscription.

NBC said this new service is ” targeted and sold to pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants, and commercial establishments nationwide.” For now, the service is small mostly focusing on Soccer, Rugby, and Cycling but look for NBC to continue to try and grow their NBC SPORTS PUB PASS service in the months and years to come.

“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with NBC Sports to bring the most popular and requested international sports to American audiences in their preferred neighborhood locations,” said Dan Lyle, Director AEG Rugby. “There is no substitute for the incredible atmosphere that is created when passionate fans get together in a pub or restaurant to watch their favorite sports and favorite teams and with NBC Sports Pub Pass there will never again be a blackout or any other barrier preventing sports fans from gathering to celebrate the most important matches and sporting events from Europe and around the world.”

Subscribers to the NBC Sports Pub Pass will receive EVERY EVENT live as well as on-demand in the following:

Subscribers will also receive EXCLUSIVE CONTENT not shown on linear TV:
