NBC and ViacomCBS Join Discovery in Expressing Concern Over T-Mobile Content Distribution

Earlier today, Discovery CEO David Zaslav mentioned during the company’s Q3 earnings call that he took issue with the way T-Mobile designed the channel lineups for its new streaming services. Zaslav was “very surprised” to see Discovery owned channels on the Vibe plan but missing from the TVision Live plans.

ViacomCBS followed suit, saying that their channels also appear only on the Vibe plan but not on TVision Live.

NBC has joined in, too. A source tells Cord Cutters News that the agreement between T-Mobile and NBC requires T-Mobile to include NBC and Telemundo stations and local affiliate networks to all TVision subscribers in areas where those channels are available. By including those channels only in the Live packages and leaving them out of the Vibe plan, the source says T-Mobile is in breach of contract.

As Discovery’s Zaslav mentioned this morning and our sources have confirmed, T-Mobile has been notified that it is in breach of its agreements and Discovery, ViacomCBS, and NBC are currently exploring their options.

TVision launched just last week. Within the TVision app, users can choose between the affordable Vibe package with 30 channels for $10/month, or one of three TVision Live packages, starting at $40/month.
