We’re pleased to offer Rip City this new DTC product, so that fans can follow Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic, and the team during key games. In addition, we’re pleased to offer NBC Sports Northwest customers access to more games than ever before.”
Many are pointing to this as a test that other NBA owners will be watching closely to see how successful it is. Hopefully, other owners see this as a success and follow in the Trailblazers’ footsteps. The catch though is you still need a service like Hulu, DIRECTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, or Sling TV to access games aired nationally on ESPN, TNT, etc.

This may not be the perfect fix for cord cutting but it is a step in the right direction.
