Paramount announced today the triumphant return of the beloved sitcom The Big Bang Theory to their networks! This 10-time Emmy® Award-winning series will bring holiday cheer and laughter to viewers on both Nick at Nite and MTV.
This is a massive change for MTV as it has, until now, mostly maintained original MTV programming. Now though Paramount is leaning into its popular classic shows to help drive up viewership. Though is this the end of MTV as we know it? A network that has heavily been focused on teens and 20 somethings is now airing programming targeting an older audience.
A Nostalgic Dose of Science and Shenanigans on Nick at Nite
Get ready for a blast from the past! Kicking off on Tuesday, December 24th, Nick at Nite will host a two-day marathon featuring iconic holiday-themed episodes, including the fan favorite “Leonard Nimoy’s Napkin.” The festivities continue on December 27th with the official debut of The Big Bang Theory on Nick at Nite, starting with Season 4 and airing daily from 12-2 a.m. (ET/PT).
But that’s not all! All 12 seasons of the show will join Nick at Nite’s stellar late-night lineup, perfectly complementing its spinoff prequel Young Sheldon and other classic sitcoms like Friends and Modern Family.
MTV Rings in the New Year with a Bang!
MTV viewers won’t be left out! To celebrate the new year, the network will air an all-day marathon of Season 3 on Wednesday, January 1st. The fun continues every Saturday and Sunday starting January 4th, where fans can relive all their favorite moments across all 12 seasons, alongside the ever-popular Friends.
