Movies Anywhere Launches Screen Pass Feature

Movies Anywhere is making it easier for everyone to share their digital movie collection with friends and family by making the Screen Pass feature available to all users. With Movies Anywhere, you can build your digital movie collection by connecting iTunes, Amazon Video, Google Play, Vudu, and other digital accounts. With Screen Pass, you can then share those movies with others.

The beta version of the feature launched in March, with a limited number of titles able to be shared, giving some users the opportunity to test out Screen Pass. Word of mouth accelerated interest in Screen Pass. According to Movies Anywhere, 45% of senders sent a Screen Pass because someone else sent them a Screen Pass. 30% of those who accepted the invitation were new to Movies Anywhere.

Some of the top titles that have been shared so far include Ready Player One, The Prestige, Tombstone, The Mule, Bad Times at El Royale, and Jaws.

Movies Anywhere also announced today that 500 more Screen Pass eligible titles have been added t the service over the past month, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit, A Star Is Born Encore, The Muppets, and National Treasure. With these additions, over 80% of the Movies Anywhere library is now Screen Pass-eligible.

To get started, sign up for Movies Anywhere for free, with no subscription or fees. Connect your digital retailers to sync your digital movie collection. When your account is created, choose any title from your movie collection that is Screen Pass eligible and send it to a friend. They’ll need to create a free account as well to watch the movie.

Screen Pass allows Movies Anywhere users to share up to three films per month. After the film is shared, the recipient will have seven days to accept, then 14 days to access the film. Once the film is started, the recipient will have 72 hours to finish the film.
