Most PlayStation Vue Subscribers Plan to Switch to YouTube TV

Yesterday Cord Cutters News asked our readers who have PlayStation Vue what service they plan to switch to after PlayStation Vue shuts down. Overwhelmingly, they said YouTube TV.

This may not be a surprise as the two services share similar features like an unlimited DVR and similar channel lineups. What is maybe most interesting is that YouTube TV had more than triple the votes of the next service on the list, Hulu.

A surprising number of subscribers said they didn’t plan to replace PlayStation Vue and would instead use on-demand only services, antennas, or some other way of getting TV other than a live TV streaming service.

PlayStation Vue will officially shut down at the end of January 2020. So, there is a lot of time for PlayStation Vue subscribers to change their minds. We are already seeing deals aimed at PlayStation Vue subscribers like YouTube TV offering a two-week free trial and Vidgo offering two months of service for $14.99 if you show proof that you are a PlayStation Vue subscriber.

The fight for PlayStation Vue subscribers will be fierce as a majority of the 500,000 subscribers will be looking for a new service. With only a few thousand subscribers separating Hulu and Sling TV from being the top live TV streaming service, you can see how they will likely spend big to acquire PlayStation Vue’s subscribers.
