Most Cord Cutters Say They Would Never Go Back to Cable TV Even If It Was Cheaper

Recently several major streaming services have raised their prices or added ads like Amazon Prime Video did this week.

So that raised the question, what would it take to make cord cutters go back to cable TV services? We asked our readers, and hundreds of them replied to our poll to say they would never go back to cable TV even if it was less expensive.

Many of our readers say the shows they enjoy are not even on cable TV, including popular shows that are exclusive to services like Disney+ and Paramount+ such as the Star Trek and Star Wars programs.

The question now is will cord cutters keep all of their streaming services. Will this loyalty result in streaming services raising prices with no fear of losing their subscribers?

For now, it seems that while cord cutters may not go back to cable TV, they are also very willing to cancel streaming services. Already cord cutters have slowly been cutting back on the number of streaming services they pay for. In 2020, the number of streaming services paid for peaked out at six and is now down to three or four paid streaming services.

This willingness to ditch services to save money will be the driving force behind how streaming services price their services going forward.
