Now the analytics firm, The Harris Poll, has released a study showing that 52% of cord cutters say they don’t miss anything about cable or satellite TV.
Of those who say they miss something, there are cord cutting options to access the content. 23% said they missed live events on TV; 22% said they missed local or national news; and 19% said they missed live sports. 8% said they missed learning about new products (aka ads), and 7% said they missed live talk shows.
This content can easily be replaced for most viewers. Sports has never been easier as most cord cutters can access their sports from streaming services. News, live events, and talk shows are easy as there are many options for news both streaming news, live events, and live talk shows.
“Cord-cutters are reacting to the fact that they do not like being forced to pay for channels they do not watch—and they do not like being restricted by device, time or place to access their programs,” said Dallas Lawrence, chief communications and brand officer at OpenX.
